“I WILL PUT MY LAWS IN THEIR MINDS AND WRITE THEM IN THEIR HEARTS” Romans 8:10-13
✍️ Looking on the diagram above, the human being is a spirit that has a soul; and dwells in a body. Th e body is therefore just a house in which the spirit lives. The mind just as emotion and will, is a constituent of the soul. The soul therefore is that conscious and emotional part of a human being.
👉Thus, a man’s mind is that spiritual force or constituent of a man dwelling his soul that governs his emotion, which flow to actions (Body). Th e man’s mind depends on his will which depends on his spirit.
The latter depends on the Holy Spirit. Obedience to God involves a man’s will. It’s not just emotion. A man must will to obey God. And as he does wills to obey Him, he sets his mind on Him and his emotion is moved, then a flow of manifestation through the body.
✍️Therefore, although obeying God involves emotion, it does not begin from it. The Holy Spirit moves the human spirit which then moves the human will. The human will decides to obey God or not to obey.
👉When the WILL, wills to obey God, the WILL gets the mind to concentrate on Him and then, because the whole personality is bent in that direction, the emotion flows in that direction too, and thus an act of obedience is produced, manifesting through the body (bones, muscles, blood). Th is will result in the whole person: spirit, soul and body obeying God.
1) Worshipping an unknown God, is false worship.
The greatest problem of believers today is the absence of an established vertical relationship with God. If our object of faith is Christ, then we must personally as individuals know Him. We must personally have a revelation of Him.
👉 For it is impossible to trust (have faith) in our object (Christ) that we do not know. We must therefore, first know our object of faith (Jesus Christ), before pretending to love, obey and serve Him as it is written:
"That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him, having the eyes of your heart enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you.. (Ephesians 1:17-23).
👉 To say we are loving and obeying somebody we do not personally know is falsehood and just Works of the Law. Th is knowledge of our object of faith (Christ) called vertical relationship begins with service in His immediate presence.
👉 Faith is intimately linked to revelation which is inseparable from a very close movement with the Lord and obedience to His Word. Worshipping an unknown God is false worship, and a mere waste of time. Believers worshipping an unknown God, have their origin of worship either from:
i) The soul, with origin from the will, mind, and emotion.
ii) The body, with origin from the mind, will, and emotion and then overflows to the body and is manifested in the bones, muscles, blood etc …
iii) The human spirit, with origin from the human spirit flowing to soul, then to body. He may thus be very sincere in false worship and sowing; and have his human spirit flow to a God he does not know.
👉This may go on for years without him confronting the reality. His Love, giving of offerings, tithes and even sacrifices of his life to an unknown God becomes folly. Yes, because false worship is initiated either by the devil for his glory, or the human spirit for the “ self ”
2) Worshipping a known God, is true worship
👉The worshipping of a known God is true worship with origin from the Holy Spirit. As such, the Holy Spirit moves the human spirit to worship God in response to a true revelation of His personality. Therefore, true worshippers will worship God in spirit and truth (John 4:23).
👉The Holy Spirit initiates true worship and sowing, which then flows to the human spirit, then the soul, and finally through the body. It is indispensable to know God our object of worship. We are not talking here of a mental or theoretical understanding of the truth about God.
✍️ Until the Lord personally reveals Himself to us, we will not know Him. Repentance from sins, deliverance, water baptism ( immersion), Holy Spirit Baptism, speaking in tongues, Evangelisation, healings, worshipping, praising, sanctifying the Sabbath, eating the clean, giving of tithes and offerings, wearing of head scarf , descent attire, dedication and consecration, prayers, fasting, Spiritual gifts, etc, are good indeed.
👉 Yes, but as good as they are, they are not the end to everything, but just the means to knowing God that real Christian life and service in the Lord begins. Because it is only in God that we must have confidence and not in the means which are just things to help us reach the end.
👉Apostle Paul knew this such that he kept praying on behalf of the Saints that they may know God as the Bible says:
" I remember you in my prayers, and ask the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious father to give you the spirit who will make you wise and reveal God to you, so that you will know Him" ( Ephesians 1:16-17).
👉Settling on the means as the end of everything is often the origin of denominations and spiritual immaturity. People create denominations on the means to knowing God and end there, and as consequence never know God.
Believers settle on the means of knowing God and so remain spiritually immature, and this greatly affects their communion with other members of the body of Christ.
👉When you build your house on the road leading to heaven, and settle there, will you ever enter heaven ? Certainly not! Because you have come to the end of your journey. You needed to have gone through the road, and until you enter heaven rather than settling on the road leading to heaven. We must make sure not to settle on any least point ( means), to be our end of everything.
We may be born again not sinning and giving into service to the Lord, but yet not know Him. It is said of Samuel:
Now Samuel did not yet know the Lord, and the word of the Lord had not yet been revealed to him (1st Samuel 3:7-7). Samuel from birth was separated unto the Lord, and grew sleeping in his presence as written:
“And Samuel was lying down within the temple of the Lord , where the ark of God was” vs3, but never knew the Lord. Yes, he was actually consecrated to God, but never knew Him until He revealed Himself to him.
👉Do we now see the possibilities of being ‘a born again’ serving, worshipping and giving gifts to an unknown God?
We must, like Samuel, seek for his revelation until he thus reveal Himself to us and continue to do so.
We must note that our growth in the knowledge of God which is very much determined by the frequency, intensity, and duration of our encounters with Him, is greatly obstructed or hampered by our seeking of the secondary to the primary .
✍️ One prominent servant of the Lord recounts that, when God appoints a person to carry out a certain distinctive ministry, the first thing that He does is not to give that ministry to the person.
That one must know God first. He must have God revealed to him at the personal level. Not until God has been thus revealed to him can God reveal the ministry to which He is calling him. He reiterates that, it is fundamental that this personal revelation of God must precede the revelation of the Ministry.
✍️There are unfortunately, he narrates, those who think that they have been sent out by a God they do not know to carry out some special work for Him. Th is is total folly. Paul said: When it pleased Him to reveal His son to me in order that I might preach him among the Gentiles(Galatians 1:15).
👉First of all, a revelation of the son to him ; and
👉 Secondly, his preaching Him among the gentiles. Knowing God before service is a must! We must come to a point of knowing God that: •
We will no longer mistake our voice or those of others to that of • Satan’s voice to that of God, et cetera etcetera. God. Brethren, we are talking from a point of hard learned practical experience.
✍️ Before attaining the little knowledge of God I claim today, I suffered much under the whims and caprices of my voice, those of others, and that of the devil. These manipulations I believe, were some lessons in the school of knowing God.
Today, I know the differences better, and can confess not with my lips but in spirit and truth that:
👉"Even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light (2nd Corinthians 11:14).
And again that :
👉“Nothing clean can come from anything as unclean as man(Job 14:4). Yes, the Bible says clearly: "For I know that nothing good dwells within me, that is, in my flesh (Romans 7:18-25).
👉Once more, let us ask ourselves this question: Do we know our object of Faith, Christ personally? From an established vertical relationship between man and God through the Holy Spirit, then flows the horizontal relationship of man to man.
Therefore, any established man-to-man horizontal relationship without a connection to God (vertical) is useless. In relation to the Bible, it will just be a flow of Biblical doctrines through the works of the flesh from man to man rather than a flow of the word of God as a way of life through the Holy Spirit.
👉This resulting from a spiritually established vertical relationship as it is written: “… not in a written code but in the Spirit; for the written code kills, but the Spirit gives life … “(2nd Corinthians 3: 6). This is the greatest reason of the Church going astray today.
Therefore, life through the Holy Spirit based on an established vertical relationship with God must be first to Biblical doctrines. The reverse of this order will just be the works of the fl esh, and thus the works of Satan. The Church of today has reversed this order and moved away from God’s perfect will .
